Oh, The Wonderful Things Mrs. Patz's Class Can Do!

Word Wall Words:  day, said, they, up
Word Family:  -ig (wig, gig, fig, pig, twig, big)
Poem of the Week:  Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
This week we discussed inside/outside settings in our pictures.  We talked about how to add more detail in our pictures to let the reader picture the story in their head before they even read it!  We made the following class books:  I wish that I had Duck feet and Oh The Wonderful things Mrs. Patz can do!  We designed our very own Dr. Seuss hat and wrote which story was our favorite and why?  Of course, how could you not talk about RHYMING with all of those Dr. Seuss books!

Math:  We continue to work on counting to 100, identifying numbers and sets to 30.  At home, you can continue to challenge your kids by helping them with their addition and subtraction facts.

Science:  Magnets are sooo much fun!  We explored magnets and made predictions of things that attract and repel.  We also learned about the poles on a magnet.
