*Five Little Pumpkins poem and re-tell
*WWW's- in and pink
*Handwriting- S A, I, T, J
*Making connections and predictions with books
*Main idea- matching the picture to the sentence that describes it
*Writing in journals daily- they are encouraged to write a sentence describing their picture using the sounds and words they know
* Discussing fiction and non-fiction books about pumpkins and comparing them
