Queen of the Day

Teagan was our Queen of the Day!  We started out the day with a circle map of all the things Teagan likes.  Then we each made a page to go in an All About Teagan Book.

Teagan-Queen of the Day

We had our Third grade Book buddies come today and help us make our Very Hungry Caterpillar Story Re-tell books.  Make sure you ask your child to re-tell the story with their very own book. We LOVE our book buddies!
Ally and Mia working on The Very Lonely Firefly

On Thursday, We read Eric Carle's Very Lonely Firfly.  We discussed feelings such as happy vs. lonely.  Then we made a list of times when we feel lonely.   We illustrated both our poems, Orange and Down by the Bay.  Ask your child to tell you some rhymes they learned this week in the song, Down by the Bay.
Today was our very first Robertson Round-up.  We will do this assembly on every other Friday at 2:15.  Parents are welcome!  This is a time to recognize birthdays, student of the month, athlete of the week and artist of the week.  After round-up, we ask that you dismiss the same as normal and meet your child at regular pick-up spots outside.
ALL ABOUT ME POSTERS:
I wanted to remind everyone that has not done an all about me poster with your child to do so.  Your child's poster will hang in the room all year.  They get to share all of their favorites and pictures of themselves/ family to their classmates.  Please make sure they get an opportunity to do one with you!  Thank you!

Conferences: Monday, October 11th
There will be NO SCHOOL on this day.  I will be meeting with each of you to discuss your child's progress and assessments.  It is very important that we meet.  I will be sending out reminders to everyone about your time. I am looking forward to it!

FIELD TRIP to the PUMPKIN PATCH
I sent home permission slips last week.  I am asking that I get these back by Friday to get a count of who all will be coming with us.  We would LOVE parent VOLUNTEERS.  When sending in your permission slip you can send money for you and your child.  The cost is $6 per child and adult.  Parents will be driving their own cars and will get a group to supervise while at the patch.  ALL students will ride the bus.  Please make this a trip for you and your kindergartner!  It is always lots of FUN!
Hope your having a GREAT weekend!
