We are Thankful...

It's the Month of November and we are very busy being Thankful in Mrs. Patz's Class.  We are continuing to work on sentence structure and daily writing in class.  We have been writing class books about what we are thankful for and what we do on Thanksgiving.  We are focusing on the following:
*beginning sounds
*ending sounds
*syllables
*rhyming words
*blends and diagraphs
*sequencing the story or the poem
*counting to 50
*patterning
*UPS check (problem solving) using word problems

At magnet center, we are using a tree map to sort the letters in words.  Then we are drawing this on a fall leaf.
