We are using this flow map to help your child learn the process of writing. Our focus is finding a topic and staying on topic when writing about it.
We have discussed details of the picture/story. We are encouraging them to use their letter/sound recognition to help them sound out their words to make sentences. We are focusing on a capital at the beginning of the sentence, spacing in between words and a period at the end.
We used the above chart to work on inferring. The students were asked to look at the picture and infer what they thought was true about the picture by observing. This is something we work on daily while reading books together.
