A look at our week

Language Arts
•Word Wall Words- at and blue

Handwriting- V, W, X, Y, Z

•BLUE song

•Syllables-  Using a tree map to sort out words and how many syllables they have.  We clapped, stomped and snapped them. 

•Journal writing- focusing on settings.  We sorted inside settings and outside settings.  We also used our sounds to stretch out words.

•We are working on adding to our stories.

•Concepts about print- title, author and illustrator as well as punctuation marks

*Guided Reading started this week.  Please make sure you are signing their folder each night.  Thank you!
*Made a class book- It was a leaf, now it is a...
*Make a circle map of things that have to do with Fall

Math
•Vocab words: shorter, longer

•I can count by ones to ten. I can describe the size of a set of objects up to five.
•Continue to work on subitizing using 10's frame
Counting objects 1 to 1
Which has the most? or which one is bigger/greater?
Which one is longest/shortest?

Science
•Vocab Words: heat, cool, chnage, melt, solid, liquid
•Comparing and describing objects that can melt and those that freeze
•Observe, graph and predict what will happen to gummy bears or chocolate chips that set in the sun
•Draw our predictions and results
