In Language Arts:
We are working on the www's he, she and be. We have also started a new spelling list for Fridays. We want your child to be prepared for first grade spelling tests. Each Monday they will get a list and on Fridays we will have a test. Of course, there are NO grades but they will earn a small treat for their hard work!
In phonics, we are working on long vowel sounds. They will be bringing home a tree map daily of long and short vowel words.
In reading, we will focus on story retell and rhyming words. In writing, we will stay on topic and use rhyming words just like Dr. Seuss.
In math, we are working on the weight of things. Which weighs more or less. Does the size, color or shape matter?
In science, we are exploring water sources. Is it clear? What is the clarity? Where do we find these water sources?
